The project is a large geoinformation system able not only to render high resolution quality maps but also to perform complex analytical calculations, enable the interaction with external geoinformation sources, perform a full text search, etc.
The project infrastructure is based on the map rendering system (Mapnik). OpenLayers are used as an environment for visualization. Scaling is ensured by several WMS, load balancing and caching servers, as well as by the data storage system on the basis of PostGIS.
